TítuloIntegration, fragmentation and disintegration in the South American regionalism
Resumo

Regionalism has been considered one of the most relevant phenomena in international relations since the mid-twentieth century despite having gone through increasing questions and possible crises in the first decades of the 21st century. Taking for granted a methodological procedure of bibliographic and legal review as data collection as well as graphic analysis and international hermeneutics related to International Political Economy and International Relations as procedures and on the interpretation of data, this article aims to discuss the causes of the regional schemes crisis in South Americans throughout the 2010s. Based on the results, this article concludes that the different regional schemes of UNASUR, ALBA, MERCOSUR and ALBA share political-ideological similarities in the design as 2nd and 3rd “waves” of regional arrangements as well as conjecture e structure convergences to explain the contexts of crisis in the South American regionalism despite the different trends of fragmentation and disintegration among the blocs.
